Homemade Honey Dijon Mustard Dressing
Salad dressing is one of those things we’re all most likely to just buy from the store, but it’s so quick, easy and delicious to make your own homemade honey dijon mustard dressing, you’ll wonder why you ever bothered with store bought dressing.
Pre-made, store bought salad dressings contain food acids, vegetable gums and added sugar. By making your salad dressing at home you’ll know exactly what ingredients are in it and you’ll be able to avoid any food additives.
The good news is you only need a few ingredients (that you most likely already have in your pantry) and this very easy homemade honey mustard dressing can be ready in minutes for you to enjoy!
There are two types of honey mustard dressing we commonly make and we couldn’t decide which one to share with you – so we’re going to give you both! They’re pretty similar but one has a couple more ingredients and requires the use of a blender, while the other is so simple you can whip it up everyday!
Let’s start with our easy homemade honey mustard dressing:
Easy Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing

For this recipe you will need:
- Dijon Mustard
- Honey
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Olive Oil and
- Salt & Pepper

That’s it!
You simply combine equal amounts of the first 4 ingredients in a jar, add some salt and pepper, shake to combine and pour over your salad! It’s as easy as that.

If you’re making for 1-2 people use about a tablespoon of each ingredient (except the salt and pepper). If you’re catering for a larger crowd you could use ⅓ of a cup or even ½ a cup of each of the main 4 ingredients, depending on how many people you are serving and how much dressing you like on your salad.
You can also keep the leftovers in the jar in the fridge for 3 weeks or so – just give it another shake up before you use it again.

Now for our slightly more complex but still ever so simple honey mustard dressing.
Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing With Garlic & Ginger

You’ll need a blender for this recipe as it uses fresh ginger and garlic. We find a personal/single size blender (like one intended for making smoothies and juices at home) works really well for this.

Start by adding your dijon mustard to the blender.

Next add your apple cider vinegar.

Add some extra virgin olive oil.

Add a clove of garlic.

Add a nugget of fresh ginger.

And top it all off with some honey.

Add some salt and water and you’re ready to blitz.

Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing With Garlic & Ginger
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Dijon Mustard
- 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil preferably Cold Pressed/Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 clove of Garlic
- 1 inch piece of Fresh Ginger peeled
- 2 Tablespoons Honey
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Water
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a small blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Add more water if the result is thicker than you would like.
- Pour over your favorite salad and enjoy!
- Keeps for up to 1 week in the fridge.
